In classical Hindi Language, armān means wish, desire, inclination, eagerness and hope toward the betterment of lives. Each human being at the bottom of the pyramid has “armān” to lift themselves out of poverty and make better lives for their families. Microfinance has been proven as an effective tool for urban/rural upliftment and development all over the world. Microfinance enables the poor to have access to much needed finance which goes a long way towards the betterment of their lives. Borrowers mostly woman take loans for a variety of income generating activities like production of weaved cloths to pottery, trade of fruits, vegetable vending, agriculture and live stock. The ultimate armān could be to buy two wheelers for milk distribution or a personal mode of transportation and to improve the end quality of life for an end consumer.
